About Us
Our mission is simple: to spread the word of God to as many people as possible.
By putting Bible verses on clothing, it makes it easy for anyone that wears it to spread the Word of God to anyone they encounter. Whether at school, work, mall, restaurant, at the line in a grocery store - anywhere there is another person - you can change someone’s life by wearing a simple Bible verse on your back. Better yet, it might start a conversation with others - strangers or friends alike - who may be curious about it, giving you a chance to talk about your faith and inspire theirs. And to other believers, it can serve as a gentle reminder of God’s truth and the fact that there are other believers out there in a world where it may sometimes feel like you’re the only one.
The beautiful thing about this is that you can walk down the street wearing a Versitude sweater and may have impacted tons of people without even having to say a word. In fact, that’s the reason I started Versitude - as an introvert I wanted to spread God’s truth to many people but was too shy to just start discussing it with others. I realized that by simply putting a Bible verse on my sweater, it was one way I could both silently declare my faith and spread it to others - and that’s what I did. My mom, being the crafty DIY queen that she is, was already making t-shirts for our family for special occasions so I borrowed her supplies, along with the miracle sale of a $7 brown sweater at the Dixie mall, and made the first Versitude sweater although I didn’t know it would become a brand at the time. To my surprise, friends started asking me where I got it and whether I could make more. After 6 months of hesitation and research about starting a clothing brand, Versitude was finally born!
A quote that has always stuck to me is: “You may be the only Bible people ever read in their lifetime.” And that means first and foremost - to LIVE out the Gospel because others may only ever meet Jesus through YOU. But secondly, your clothes might also literally be the only chance someone out there could encounter a Bible verse. We already wear clothes all the time everywhere anyways - why not spread His truth while we do it? There are still many people out there who don’t know about Jesus and I can’t reach them all.
